The game was played at the Louisiana Superdome. The Saints emerged through an elaborate tunnel amid an array or fireworks, smoke and very loud cheering and applause.
The Saints went on to win the game 31-28 in overtime to earn the franchise's first ever Super Bowl birth, where they defeated the Indianapolis Colts by a score of 31-17 to capture the city's first-ever Championship.
